Society has become so single-minded that often men are told to “man up”, “don’t cry like a girl”, and whatnot when they express their emotions. They after expected to be strong all the time and not have basic human emotions. This was the case of Tirupati, who was under tremendous social pressure. And due to that, he ignored his serious health condition for 4 to 5 years.
Tirupati is a 36-year-old man from Warangal who happens to fall victim to domestic violence. Not able to bear his wife’s torture, he attempted to commit suicide. That did not happen. In return, he was left with 3rd-degree burns on his face, hands, and other parts. His condition is medically known as full shoulder axillary contracture.
The treatment costs were expensive for him to bear and hence he dropped the idea of it. He approach us in 2018, scared and troubled, having suffered around 5 years from the condition. After so many sessions of counseling, we were able to convince him to get treatment and therapy. He reluctantly agreed and we were able to get a surgery done for his condition last month.
All essential surgeries are successfully completed and Tirupati’s health is in great condition. He is now a confident person and stands up for himself.
